Coaching services.

Everyone I coach arrives with their own goals, so I don't work from a fixed program. Most people come to me with one of the situations below, and many with more than one.

Who I work with.

I work with people in any field and at any stage: someone in a first job, someone running an organization, someone deciding whether to leave one, someone working out what comes after. Some have just started something new. Others are weighing a change, or noticing that a life they built with great care no longer fits the way it once did.

Whatever brings you here, I see it as a beginning. Together we take stock of where you are and what you already do well, and we work toward what you want next.

Where I can help.

Some transitions come with an announcement: a new job, a move, a promotion, a graduation. Others arrive slowly, as a growing sense that the path you're on doesn't fit anymore. Coaching gives you a supportive, structured place to look at your options, get clear on what matters to you, and make a decision you can stand behind.

Often a fit for
  • Starting out, or starting over
  • Weighing a new position, or whether to leave the current one
  • Returning after a leave, an illness, or a setback
  • Working out what comes next, including after a career

I've used CliftonStrengths with individuals and teams since becoming a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach in 2021. The assessment describes the patterns in how you think, feel, and act. We use your results to understand how your strengths shape the way you work and relate to other people, and where leaning on them too hard gets in your way.

What's included
  • The CliftonStrengths assessment and a full one-on-one debrief
  • Useful on its own or as the start of a longer engagement
  • Team sessions available for groups and departments

Taking on more responsibility changes what people expect of you, usually faster than anyone prepares you for. So does a hard relationship with a boss, a colleague, or a team. Together we work on how you show up: how you see yourself, the relationships that feel hardest to manage, and the decisions that keep landing on your desk.

Often a fit for
  • Managing people for the first time
  • Taking on a bigger role or a larger scope
  • Navigating conflict, change, or a difficult team
  • People who have been told they're ready and aren't sure they agree

I've spent my whole career in academic medicine as a clinician, teacher, program director, and mentor, so I know the particular pressures of hospitals and universities: long training, promotion timelines, the pull between competing responsibilities, and new roles that arrive with little preparation. If you work in either, you won't need to explain the context, and we can spend our time on what matters to you.

Often a fit for
  • Students and trainees
  • Nurses, physicians, and everyone else who keeps a hospital running
  • Faculty, staff, and educators
  • People thinking about leaving healthcare or academia
